THROWBACK THURSDAY

I came across this photo of me the other day and I thought it would be the perfect picture to describe me in a nutshell. This also gives you guys a chance to get to know me a little better plus it's Thursday today so lets just throw in the whole ThrowbackThursday out there. It will come to no surprise to those of you who know me personally that I have always been a food lover. I was surrounded and grew up appreciating good food from the start; from Maltese cuisine, Italian cuisine - the vivid memories of making fresh pasta with my granddad, to eating delicious French cuisine every time I go to France and the home cooking and baking explorations on weekends with my mum, this is where my love just kept growing fondly and keeps growing to this day. Cooking has always been a passion of mine - but I enjoy preparing food perhaps slightly more than I enjoy eating it Heyoo what! Yep, you heard it it's a time in the day where I can let go and just unwind & an added bonus now is that i'm able to incorporate this into my personal space here on the internet - - I feel so thankful that I get to share this part of me with you guys here on Live Elle!

I'm amazed at how some things never change, it's good to look back at old photos and reflect. For one, no matter how many years have gone by my hairstyle somehow has sort of gone back to a very similar style (I'd like to think with more emphasis on the style today).. && funnily enough, although my fashion sense back then might have been a little crazier let's be honest I would never wear yellow in this day and age....

I came across a similar camisole dress to the one I am wearing in the photo above whilst at work (I knew that garment looked familiar) Fashion really does go round in circles, we seem to have gone back to the early 90's so it seems. This dress happens to still be available on sale at ZARA if you guys are interested. I think I'll skip re-falling into the past. Although dipping into the leftovers after baking is a tradition that doesn't die young that I assure you I will carry on to do, as well as having food all around my face - somethings just never change :-) It's nice to reflect back & get your mind back on track, also good to connect back with the simpler days and let that nostalgia feeling kick in!

Today was my day off work and I spent the day in a similar spot to this photo - cooking up a few things for you guys that will come up shortly ; so stay tuned!

Outfit Of the Day - Snow Flakes and a Touch of Grey

(Cardigan, Bag & Scarf - ZARA, Turtleneck & Leggings - H&M, Shoes - New Look)

What's the one thing you want to do when its super cold outside? for me it's to stay all warm and snuggled up inside especially when the temperature is at a minus. Being in Paris for a few short days, I obviously wanted to make the most of my time here by going several places I do go when I'm here. Paris somehow seemed to have been slightly colder than London or at least happened to be the case for the few days I was there. I even got to witness a little snow falling down which added a nice touch and happened to be exactly when I was taking my outfit of the day photos.. Hence the first photo of me looking above (spur of the moment).

I decided to sport a cosy chic look. Over-laying is a trend which I have always loved, especially when it's the same colour in different tones, I just love how they all blend together nicely. I bought this thick cardigan which is oversized in length rather than in width - it might not look like it but I assure you it's a bonus for these winter months, it keeps me so warm. When travelling for a few short days, you never have a big wardrobe choice to choose from. I decided to travel with my flat biker boots as I knew that they would be the most comfortable and permit me to walk for as long as I want as well as compliment any outfit I chose to wear whilst on holiday. Let's be honest you can't really go wrong with Black Biker Boots - this is 'wear' smart packing comes in, and over the last few years of travelling back and forth - I have somehow become a pro. It might not always be the most glamorous of outfits, I always end up being on holiday wishing I had a different pair of shoes on hand, or that blouse I thought I wouldn't need but then find it suitable for the occasion but for me it's about staying presentable and remotely within style and to make it work with the few outfit choices I do bring to make me ready for the day ahead. I try to prioritise comfort without forfeiting fashion even more when being in the capital of less is always more, a motto that I carry with me wherever I go.

Last Minute Christmas Shopping

(Vest - Primark, Suede Leggings, Knee High Boots, Bag & Jumper - ZARA)

What is it that is so exciting (& stressful) about last minute Christmas Shopping? I think that it takes people a while to get into the Christmas spirit and to realise, shit.. it's Christmas in a couple of days. Me for one it only hit me this weekend, being away from home & not having decorations up where I live it's taken a while to kick in that it's Christmas in FIVE DAYS. It could also be due to the fact that Christmas also means manic work days ahead and a part of me is hoping for it to be over sooner rather than later. (Despite, loving Christmas). I realised that this weekend was my only chance left to get all my presents sorted before Christmas Eve on Saturday which is the time that I properly celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts, it has been that way ever since I was young and I intend to keep that tradition going no matter how far away I am from home.

Anyone who knows me will immediately tell you that I am a very classic black and white kinda gal. My whole wardrobe is not very colourful - I leave it to my personality to bring out the colours. (HA) It's almost mandatory when you spread the love and buy gifts for others, to self love and buy a gift for yourself in the process. (anything to make myself feel better for splurging money) I have added a few new additions to my wardrobe lately simply to add to my black and white collection or lets just call this my entire wardrobe. First off, I love leggings or yoga pants they're a signature look of mine which I find myself wearing not only for comfort but the way they style various outfits and simply work and go with everything. It was well overdue to invest in a fancier version of suede leggings which just dressed up a look instantly - can I just say how super comfy they are which is an added bonus! Secondly, I've been on the hunt for knee-high boots for a good couple of years and somehow they never quite fit right, I finally came across a pair whilst at work and you know what they say if the shoe fits...

Match the suede knee-high boots with the suede leggings and it's as if I'm wearing two in one! This look of black on black might not be for everybody but I just love the combination and the never ending effect that it gives.

It was this Sunday that I was dressed like this for the day that entailed going around shops & heading down to the Christmas Market, but I also was dressed up for the pub later that evening, where we met some friends for a drink or two. I love outfits that fit the part and hit two birds with one stone. With work I don't get to enjoy the clothes that I buy often due to always being in a uniform - I'm not complaining for having a uniform as i can imagine it would be so stressful spending hours deciding what to wear every morning... (& having an extra reason for being late to work) but I wish I had more occasions to wear my clothes more - I think extra leave just seems to be the right answer here. (ahhhh a girl can dream)
