Seven Year Anniversary!

12/16/2016

12th DECEMBER

I cannot believe that I celebrated my seven year anniversary early this week! boy does time go past when you are having fun! We've had our ups and downs just as other couples but it just makes us closer for it. Every anniversary we don't usually offer gifts other than the occasional card (I love cards) instead, we spent the money that we would have spent on a gift to create new memories together. It's our tradition to try new things (although as the years go by we have to start being more creative) or take up daily activities & make it a day of fun instead. Our anniversary fell on a Monday and we both took the day off work for this reason to spend a whole day of quality time together, which with our work routines doesn't happen as often as we'd like.

I went round Primark the day before and saw this 'T' choker which I thought would be perfect to wear for the occasion, for £2 as well was well worth it.

LUNCH DATE:

We took the morning in, to just enjoy a lie-in and to enjoy a nice breakfast in bed whilst watching some cartoons. (yes, we're actually seven in age too so it seems) but we don't get to enjoy a relaxed morning often.  For lunch Tom and I headed straight over to Vapiano's in soho, took us a good hour and a half to get there and I enjoyed a nice gingerbread latte whilst on the train.

We love italian food & had been meaning to try this restaurant due to all the good reviews. The ambiance was unexpectedly a very romantic vibe, especially due to the dim lighting, I even liked the concept of this restaurant where you get to order, and pick it up yourself - it's almost fast-food with good -food which is perfect for when you're short on time, yet it is still enjoyable and allows you to take in the lunch/dinner experience.

We ordered a funghi pizza as a starter to share, considering it's one of our favourite foods - we needed to have pizza at some point & followed up by a pasta dish as a main. I went for the campagnelle pasta with a mushroom sauce (Yum) & for Tom  the mushroom risotto. (Erm?! Can you tell we're a little mushroom obsessed ha!) It was a super veggie friendly lunch yet so delicious, you can even tear off herbs from infront of you to add to your dish which really was a nice touch.

(Fur Scarf - Topshop, Midi Dress - New Look, Coat - ZARA, Shoes - H&M)

the bathroom layout in the ladies room was so beautiful. I just had to take a photo here, especially with the flower - plus it gets to show my ootd, sortof.

ICE SKATING:

After lunch we decided to take a stroll & head towards Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park to get on the ice rink and skate a little,  I have to admit I suck completely when it comes to ice skating. I always start getting better once the time is up  and then wait a whole other year to skate again, to start from scratch all over again. I really should take it up more often if I want to improve! Tom on the other hand, seems to be a natural - he managed to drag me along with him which really made it more of an enjoyable experience for me. It starts getting dark super fast here in London by 4pm to be precise, which in a way worked out well. The hour we decided to go on the rink, it was raining slightly which means there weren't as many people skating which made it more of a special moment for us, with the live music that was also playing, I could have stayed frozen in that particular moment.

LEGO WORLD:

We were booked in to watch a show at the west end for the evening and as we picked up our tickets a little earlier and had time to kill before it starts, very close to the theatre was lego world and of course, we went in. Granted we didn't stay very long but considering that we don't often go to Central London  for fun we tried to go different places that we wouldn't usually go, there were lots of statues and wall montages all made from lego which was very impressive.

BOOK OF MORMON WEST END SHOW:

It was finally time! This was the one event that we were mainly looking forward to. No surprise the west end never ceases to amaze me! I'm not usually one for musicals, but live shows are an exception. The performance was played so well and the songs were amazing and very catchy, I even have one of the songs stuck in my head on repeat - and it isn't even a good phrase to stay saying countless times during the day! I'm glad that we watched this show, although it was a little pricy it was worth the experience and to get a good laugh or two out of it. Both Tom and I love South Park and due to the Book of Mormon being written by the creators of South Park we knew this play wouldn't disappoint.

We even stopped at M&M world before the show and got a bag of goodies, my favourite are the peanut M&M's whilst Tom loves the chocolate ones - we even got a mix of the crispy kind which made a nice mixture that we got to enjoy during the play.

I couldn't have asked for a more special day, we got to do a variety of things and most importantly spend quality time, which was well needed. Every year is a blessing to be able to go through life with my better half by my side, I just want to say thanks for always being there through thick and thin -  I love you bu! X
